In Slöinge, in the middle of Halland, lies SIA Glass (SIA Ice cream). The company belongs to the Berte group, the oldest family owned company in Sweden with lineage from the 16th century. Ice cream production was started in 1961, and one might think that it was now part of some international combine.
But SIA Glass goes against the tide. With the battle cry "Swedish ice cream with a taste of the world" this creative company dashes forward and picks up market shares from the traditional giants.
This spring SIA treats the customers with eight new ice cream flavours inspired by tastes from different countries and continents. What about a Glace Santander Cacao - chocolate ice cream with crushed cocoa beans? Or why not try a Glace Meringue Lemoncurd - ice cream with lemon sauce and lemon meringues. If you have tried these it is easy to join in the cheers from the ice cream expertise in Sweden.

Hard Rain’s ”taste patrol” made the journey to the ice cream factory in Slöinge and did some shopping from the ”outlet assortment”. Fantastic! No discarded leftovers. Just boxes with a little too much ice cream or some scratch on the box. First-class delicacy inside. This is absolutely worth a detour, like they used to say in the Guide Rouge.
Everyone raised to become a good ice cream citizen on the wonderful shores of Haverdal and Steninge, well of course in the entire swimming Sweden, have nothing to worry about. SIA Trollis is still in this summer’s choice! But don’t forget to try the new flavours this summer. And there is nothing wrong with a glass of port beside.
